Sherwood News investigated. I’m personally a little doubtful, but the listing Sherwood News found does look close to what’s in the office.

Here you go, nerds.

Bethesda is now selling chunks of the original servers that brought you The Elder Scrolls Online in 2014, as Kotaku spotted. Dubbed “The Elder Scrolls Online 10-year Anniversary Server Keepsake,” these are sticks of RAM encased, along with a zinc alloy commemorative plate, in wood-framed shadowboxes.

Bethesda is selling 2,000 of the individually numbered sticks for $110, and they ship in July.

Meta reportedly offered $1 billion to settle the FTC’s antitrust lawsuit.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Mark Zuckerberg called FTC chair Andrew Ferguson and initially offered $450 million before upping the offer to settle to $1 billion. Ferguson apparently wouldn’t initially settle for “anything less than $18 billion and a consent decree” before the FTC upped its counter to $30 billion, per the report. The Journal also notes that President Trump “at various points appeared more open to striking a deal ” and asked “questions about how a settlement would work.”

Acer’s new gaming laptops seem budget-friendly, but they don’t have US prices or launch dates.

Acer announced four new gaming laptops for its entry-level Nitro line, each configurable with Nvidia RTX 5060 or 5070 Ti GPUs, but none of them have US pricing or availability. Likely due to tariff uncertainty, Acer’s press release says, “US availability and pricing to be announced closer to local availability.”

We don’t know when that will be, but for now Acer announced EU pricing (see image gallery).

The Acer Nitro V 16S AI starts at €1,299 with an RTX 5060 and AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU. It’s expected to arrive in August.
The Nitro 16 AI will start at €1,399 with an RTX 5060 and AMD Ryzen AI 5 340, shipping in July.
Acer’s Nitro 16S AI (yes, it’s different than the Nitro V model) will start at €1,399 with an RTX 5060 and AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 CPU, and is also expected in July.
The larger, 18-inch Nitro 18 AI will start at €1,499 with an RTX 5060 and AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 CPU. It should ship in August.

Pokémon Go maker Niantic is laying off at least 68 workers.

Niantic announced the job cuts after it sold its gaming business to the Saudi Arabia-owned developer Scopely last month. But now we know how many employees may be affected, as a California WARN notice filed in March (but spotted now by Game Developer) indicates that Niantic will lay off 68 employees in the state on May 20th, 2025.

Figma is taking steps to go public.

That’s according to a release from the company about a filing with the SEC, which says:

Today, we’re sharing that Figma has confidentially submitted an S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission, giving us the option to go public, pending SEC review.

That’s not a... Figma of your imagination. Last year, Figma CEO Dylan Field hinted to The Verge deputy editor Alex Heath that the company was looking at going public following Adobe’s thwarted acquisition of it.

This $395 mirror turns your reflection into a Microsoft Paint masterpiece.

Depending on your age, there’s a good chance Microsoft Paint was your first introduction to creating digital art. The app’s capabilities have improved over the years, but Drought’s new MS Paint Mirror captures the charm of the limited toolset included in the Windows 95 version — just supersized and a lot easier to use.

A person holds a mirror in a dry, desert-like area in two different side-by-side images.
Drought’s MS Paint Mirror is made from wood, glass, MDF, and features a “full-color printed design.”

8BitDo’s Ultimate 2 controller with anti-drift sticks now supports the Switch.

After launching the Ultimate 2 controller last February with TMR joysticks and support for Windows and Android devices, 8BitDo has released a new version compatible with the Switch.

The $69.99 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth controller, available in white or black, is functionally the same as the original (which also supported Bluetooth) but now plays nice with Nintendo’s portable console and features an alternate button label layout for Switch gamers.

The Ultimate 2 Bluetooth controller supports Windows PCs and all of the current Switch consoles, but 8BitDo hasn’t confirmed if it will be compatible with the Switch 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II comes to Game Pass in May.

While GTA V (and GTA V Enhanced on PC) is available, again, on Game Pass as of today, Xbox announced that 2022’s Call of Duty game will join the library in a couple of weeks. A reboot of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, and predecessor to 2023’s Modern Warfare III reboot, it will include the “...globe-trotting single-player campaign, immersive multiplayer combat, and an evolved Special Ops game mode.”

If that’s not modern enough, it notes Game Pass subscribers also have access to a bundle of in-game items for the current Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone.

DOGE may have improperly taken sensitive NLRB data.

According to an NPR report, “Members of the DOGE team asked that their activities not be logged on the system and then appeared to try to cover their tracks behind them, turning off monitoring tools and manually deleting records of their access — evasive behavior that several cybersecurity experts interviewed by NPR compared to what criminal or state-sponsored hackers might do.”

Canada’s Switch 2 preorders might go live on April 23rd.

That’s according to billbil-kun, who digs up unannounced information about games.

Nintendo delayed its planned April 9th preorders to “align with the timing” of the also-delayed US preorders.
